Dallas Friday checking in from Madison, Wisconsin. I have been on the road for a while now. I am in Madison because my coach, Mike Ferraro, flies up here every year to train some of his students. He knew I was bummed about my back being broke so he invited me to come with him on the trip. His daughters, who are my age, met up with us and we have been having a good time. We have been going to a private lake each day and I get to watch people wakeboard and trick ski. It is a beautiful lake.
To give you some insight to the world of wakeboarding: it is a sport where people are close. Even though we are all competitors, we honestly hope each does their best in competition.
But outside of competition, it is full of mayhem with practical jokes being played all the time. Case and point, I leave my equipment out at my coach's place where I train with fellow training partners (mostly guys). I can come to practice each day and usually some kind of different prank has been pulled on me. It is usually something like they have hung my equipment from a tree Or have put a fish in my bindings or they have taken the stickers on my wakeboard and changed the letters around to say crazy things.
So this trip I decided to get back at them as some of them were in Wisconsin with me. We had gone to dinner and us girls decided to leave early. We went back to the hotel room and for some reason the boys had left their door slightly open. We girls came up with a plan. We decided to get their shaving cream and toothpaste and spread it in between their sheets. Then we made the bed up to look like nothing had been touched. The next day the boys were so mad at us they would not even speak to us, but we knew this wouldn't last long as this is what one can expect in the world of wakeboarding. hee hee.
