So I'm finally going to pull the trigger and buy a 30D. Has anyone purchased from any of the websites below? I was doing a search and all of them came from shopcartusa.com. They're stuff is priced a lot lower than everyone else. A couple seem legit but I don't want to screw myself to save $$. Thanks in advance!

Try Costco or B&H so you don't get burned.

Jesus, Mike, don't get screwed! Buy from a legit website! A good site to check is www.resellerratings.com

expresscameras.com rating: 0.77/10 (HORRIBLE!)

bestpricecameras.com rating: 0.18/10 (WORSE THAN HORRIBLE!)

1wayphoto.com rating: 1.43/10 (HORRIBLE!)

usaphotonation.com rating: 0.64/10 (YOU SUCK AT FINDING LEGIT SHOPS ONLINE!)

expocameras.com rating: N/A (though there is someone who had a similar "bait and switch" horror story similar to what others have experienced at the rest of the above links.)

Stick to someone who is selling the camera for the regular price. If there is a place that is selling camera equipment for significantly cheaper than what you'll find at Costco or B&H (as noted by Walt) then the company is probably shady as F*ck.

for example...here's the rating for B&H: 9.43/10.
Yes, they are gonna be "more expensive," but you better believe that you're gonna get EXACTLY what you paid for.

some links:

Call me at the shop tomorrow (tuesday).

I stopped reading the ratings for the stores you posted when 1wayphoto came back with a 1.43 rating out of 10. Check for yourself.

Much of my camera equipment has come from Costco, for my camera body, BHphotoandvideo, Amazon, Andorama, and other authorized retailers of different types that carry excellent ratings.

Even though Costco no longer offers a lifetime warranty, they are a great place to purchase product. Do the math, since it includes some media cards also. Decide if the kit lens is something you would use.

Edit: Guess I type slow...Looks like Scott covered it already.

my friend fell for the bestpricecamera.com scam and it was a hassle to cancel the order once i told her it was fake.

and if i were you i'd hold off on the 30d until the rumored 40d is released in the next couple months, then the price off the 30d price will drop.

I just bought a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT from Buydig.com and they were a great company to deal with.
