I have a older supra that used to have the ugly supertraps on it. When I re-did the stringers I went with a more conventional flapper through hull. Well now especially when surfing the motor drowns out even my wetsounds. Need advice on which route to go. Thinking of either pulling out the straight pipes in the hull and installing a inline fiberglass muffler or getting a FAE system. I don't have trouble with exhaust gas, just the noise. So which one would be more efficient and make it as quite as a 4cyl i/o? |

ohh and it's a 454 |

FAE set up. I had one on my boat and loved it. http://www.freshairexhaust.com/ |

Go with the FAE you wont be disappointed. You really gotta hear it in person to believe it, it's insane how quiet it is. When surfing you can hear music loud and clear and when boarding all you hear is the water around you (unless your music is on then you should have no problem hearing it). |

New boat like mine LOL |

How hard is the install? How much would it cost in labor if I had it installed? |

Chris why buy a new boat when I end up riding on yours more then I do my own. My thing is that a fae is 400+ compared to 200+ for mufflers. But at idle with the exhaust below water line it's still not quite. At speed I'm as loud as most of the scarab/baja/donzi's with through hull pipes. I know everyone with newer boats sing their praise but remember you have mufflers already. I never considered it an issue till riding behind chris's centurion. Thanks chris, another expenditure I can blame on you. lol |
