Thought all you might enjoy seeing what we came up with for the Chicago Boat Show. It's a 2009 VLX, tinted windows, custom stickers, bumping stereo, custom trailer by Boatmate
looks dope! love the murdered look... how much? |
We have had contracts written on this exact boat and another just like it for $76k. |
I guess I'll be the first guy to say it.. I don't like it. |
guys get tired of super model girlfriends too looks great to me, would love to get tired of it. |
As good as a malibu will get..... joke. It looks pretty good to me... I woulda guessed a "MONSTER" wrap would have been done, not a wakesetter graphic... cool color combo though |
Saw it in person at the show.. LOVED IT! |
I think it looks good. Not overdone like some of the wrapped boats. Classy details and a clean overall look. I like the LED-lit fenders, they wouldn't last but a nice touch for the show. would love to get tired of it myself. |
Makes me wish I had $76K!! Sweet ride! Good job guys, nothing too over the top, but it still stands out from the crowd. -Steve P.S. Kevin, tell Don and Kevin J. I said UPS wouldn't let me send them double-doubles for some strange reason... |
I saw it too. Was very shiny. Better in person! |
Very sharp looking boat and i really like how the monster graphics are done so it looks like the M almost is meant to represent malibu. What I don't get is how people a willing to pay all these big bucks for their boat to be advertisements for companies, like the new Supra and Liquid Force deal. If anything I would want that boat to be cheaper but I guess kids my age are all about looking like they are sponsored. |
The boat is one of the sickest I have seen but the wheels on the trailer although amazing may be a little over the top. I am all about Bling but I can tell you when i would take my Blinged out MB to the lake I would find there were 3 kinds of people...the ones who would come up and tell you how much they dug your boat and just loved the idea of seeing a cool blinged out ride. Then their were th eones who wouldnt even look at you or give you the time of day even when you waved to be nice. Then the idiots who were so jelous because your boat made theirs look like carp that if you waved you would either see a middle finger or hear a bunch of idiots talking smack about you and your boat. That being said - if money were no object I'd be all over that green machine. |
That Is BADASS Love the look |
I want it! |
i haven't seen that boat, but i did see an 09 vlx at our show. all i can say is pictures, even good one's don't do that boat justice. |
Great colour combo! |
oh snap that is money!!!!!! makes my vlx seem so unworthy. nice job!!! |
OK, as far as the "Murdered" look goes, where do you guys boat that allows you to not worry about burning your arms or legs as that boat is baking under the sun? Doesn't Chicago get hot during the summer too? That boat is tripping me out just looking at it. Is there some kind of protectant or special covering that keeps that black from tripling the air temp under the sun? |
MonsterBu Wakesetter! Sick! |
Bu Coo, i'm really considering a black boat for this year but that is my biggest concern. |
Yes it does get hot here in Chicago. The interior doesnt get any hotter than a "normal" colored boat. Its not as bad as one might think. The biggest issue is keeping it clean...And finding room for all the ladies... |
I do not think I could keep that boat clean. |
This is exactly the color scheme I wanted. I also wanted Monster decals too. That looks so sick I love the wheels, tint, and LED's |
Nice looking boat and I'm not a fan of green. It's very classy and not over the top yet effective to set it apart from the rest. If your that worried about the black just get some gator grip, problem solved. I've got a black boat, granted not as much black as the Monster boat but nonetheless it's not been an issue. We have very hot days that exceed 100 often as well. Keeping it clean, not any harder than any other color imho. Keep it well maintained/waxed and all the water spots come off. I do use 100% vinegar. |
At least its not black and Pink. How does black do in places where your bow cover or tonneau cover come into contact. Does it show every little mark? |
That things is totally flossy! Hate the Monster decals though, sorry Twitch. Black and Bu's just look right. |
It's a sweet boat for sure! |
OnlyInboards, Maybe I wasn't specific enough. I'm sure the interior doesn't get hotter than the normal colored boats... Wait... I need to finish laughing... OK... No, wait... OK done, I was talking about arms and such hanging over the sides and back. Good reply though. |
Bu Coo, Ive spent a lot of time on an ALL black X1. Never noticed the outside being any hotter than any other color. |
no you were totally specific, My concern was for the outside where your arms would actually touch the black exterior of the boat. Not sure what was funny about that. |
black shows everything, i quite drying my boat and blow it off with a red max leaf blower haha, i keep getting scratch marks from drying with towel, but yellow doesnt show anything |
Clay's has a Black bu. The thing they have going for them is that there is not that much exposed black deck. (ill explain) The surfaces that you would walk on or touch are pretty thin/small The whole back of the boat is sun pad(vinyl). The deck (in the center of the boat) it's pretty much shaded by the Bimini and when your sitting in the boat the gunnals are pretty much so tall that its not like you have you arm hanging out and over the side. The part you have to watch out for is the bow. It gets hot up near the Nav bow light. Believe it or not the HOTTEST boat I ever stepped on to was Trav's 2001 SAN its all white with a black stripe. The rear sun pad has a thick black vinyl stripe running across the the sun pad. On a hot sunny day if you step on the black vinyl you will swear you just stepped on hot coal's Ouch! The crome V drive latches on the Bu get hotter than any black boat surface. |
I agree G, any black vinyl, especially on the rear sun pad can scorch ya! |
Only Inboards, sorry, I accidently thought your comment was from the one under you "Kevin Denbroeder." I was laughing so hard, I mistook your posts. |
Now that I think about it, G make's sense. But still those small areas of black on the deck top would still burn I would think. And seeing how much kids love riding up front, the front black deck areas would have issues. Nice looking boat though. If I would get an all black boat, I think that green trim would be the way to go, except for the matrix-y appearance. |
Wow Bucoo. Thanks. I guess next time i wont share with wakeworld anymore. I love getting laughed at on the internet.... |
The black deck wont burn by the way. Ive spent enough time on all black boats to know this. Understandble bu coo? |
Sure Kevin, but com'on, "The interior doesn't get any hotter than a normal colored boat" while talking about dark colored decks? That was funny! Don't take it personally. |
That Black on the interior will be hot as hell though.... |

looks killer. like it a ton more than the ugly wraps that mc is doing (and im a mc/nautique guy). only thing is that bu needs to update its interior. Not a fan of the carpet on the sides and its basically the same interior as my buddies 04 vlx. |
DJ, How come you don't like the carpet on the sides? |
I prefer carpet on the sides to me it looks more refined. |

I donno, probably just cause newer boats are going away from that. Its not that I dont like bu's interior, it just hasnt changed in a while, and daddy likes variety |
dj you need to go sit in one, obviously you haven't lately. They change things every year, some small changes some bigger. Especially in the 09' boats. |
