So I have a name picked out for my tiger woods yacht when the day comes. Just wondering what everyone thinks of naming a wakeboard boat.

And then taking it to the next level and having the name put on the back of your boat.

I think it is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Especially the ones that the owner thinks is clever, ie "Wet Dream", "Party Barge" or "Wake-tastic". LAME!!

But different strokes for different folks.

You are a straight HOMO if you put a name on your boat!
Its way better to put the name of your boat on you.

Not LAME !!! Have fun with it. We take our boat from Ozarks to Powell and lots of lakes in between so we named ours "WE"RE THE FUGAWI". Once again, have fun with it.Upload

Just do something a tiny bit original on your boat. Whatever it is...... something other than the same old crap everyone else has.

Definitely have some fun with it!

Do we really have to see that guy's ass in another thread?!

Call up Jason Ellis and ask "dude is it gay", he'll tell you

By Chris Cantrell (151) on Thursday, August 14, 2008 - 5:25 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
gay is a sexual bias. "ghey" is a way to label an otherwise hetero man as slightly feminine.

Who is Jason Ellis

I bought a used boat called the aquaholic and it felt pretty gay, your call though.

If you want to name your boat do it and don't worry about if someone else thinks it's gay or not.

I think the Tige Tattoo has been the best WW hoax in a long time. Anyone else notice the ink transferring to his shorts ?

By AndY (andy13) on Thursday, August 14, 2008 - 6:44 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
how would the outside of his lower shorts get on his lower back?

walt not saying its not a hoax just saying that that mark isnt definite proof...
i still dont know if its real or not but i kinda think it is lol
the guy never posted anything back after he got destroyed in that thread...

The shorts ride up and in lithography terms it's known as (set off or off set). Maybe I'm wrong but every time I see that pic this is what comes to mind.

If your old (over 50), live on it, or you fish from it....Name it. Other than that, it's gay.

Might as well put DEEZ NUTZ across the back of it. Yes, I've seen it.

Who gives a rats A@# what anyone thinks about your boat but you. Dont be insecure and worry if someone else thinks its gay ghey or anything else. Your boat= your decision= who cares. Have fun and enjoy

I think the original poster wanted to know if it is customary or traditional to name a towsports boat. It is not.
That doesn't mean people don't do it. If you decide to name it google "top ten boat names" and make sure not to pick one of them.

By pickles (pickles) on Friday, August 15, 2008 - 7:36 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
Yeah thats true.
Wakeboard boats traditionally are not named. Unless of course u r ghey lol.
Unless the boat is a little aluminium or a 30 foot fishing boat or bigger, it does not need to be named.

By AtTheLake (bmartin) on Friday, August 15, 2008 - 7:47 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
What is all this homophobia????? I have no idea why anyone would think that a name on the back of your boat would indicate your orientation....well I suppose that depends on the name of course. "Off shore Drilling" might be some sort of clue.

Like most said, it is a personal choice, but if you are looking for a popularity barometer, I would guess that most people do not name their tow boats and I do not name mine, but my boat is pretty simple in many ways.

BTW - I like that tricks are for kids slogan.

That Tige tattoo is real. The guy is an active forum member on www.tigeowners.com.

when i was on catalina last month there were some guys on a boat that said "girls gone wild crew" with the mail box square stickers from wal mart or a hardware store on their boat. they did NOT have chicks on their boat! if you decide to put something on your boat, X STAR would be a safe bet.

By OnlyInboards.com (wakereviews) on Friday, August 15, 2008 - 8:51 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
If you drop 20 - 70k on a boat, do whatever the hell you want to do with it and don't worry about what others think...

however, I'd 2nd this
"If you decide to name it google "top ten boat names" and make sure not to pick one of them."

I love it when a post comes together.

I guess we have determined that they gheyness is in the name not the naming of the boat.

That said I don't have a fitting name for my malibu.

One day I hope to have a boat big enough to be known as "the pursuit of happiness"

I think thats a cool enough name for a ship. and now its documented as my idea so don't steal it.

I named mine and could give 2 schitt's if "you're not suppose to name a wake boat." I wanted to so I did like it or not.

In my first post:
"You are a straight HOMO if you put a name on your boat!
Its way better to put the name of your boat on you"
and then I posted the Tattoo Pick.

Yes I have had Bling Bling spelled out in swarovski crystals on the back of my boat for 6 year's

I guess my attempt @ Sarcasm has fialed LOL
I shouldn't assume everyone knows my boat.
having the name on the back of my boat has been a easy way to describe mt boat. When I tell people my boats the red Nautique with the white stripe the don't seem to reconize it but when I say it the boat that say's Bling Bling on the back they are ""Oooo"" I know your boat! Your the A hole that shakes my windows at 2 Am,

Depends where you ride but from a safety point of view having a name on your boat is a big deal for VHF purposes...
