Hey everybody,
since last weekend we have a very weird problem with our Perfect Pass:
When it is not engaged and you accelerate with the throttle, Perfect Pass shuts down, reboots, and then takes the whole power off the engine and goes into idle.
If PP is engaged the boat will not go over 6mph and RPM mode does not work either.

Any ideas?

Is this a drive by wire boat, or mechanical linkage boat?

What is your electrical situation? Seems to me the restarting is the voltage to the PP dropping below 10.5 volts

I would guess that it is either low voltage or the ground wire is not getting good contact. Both would cause it to turn on and off over and over.

it's drive by wire, and all the tests on the PP ran without any trouble.
The strange thing is that the problem occurred from one day to the next... and that the pp just turns of when accelerating, and when it is engaged it doesnt go above 1600rpm or 10km/h

hey Chris,

You should check your voltages as the other guys have mentioned, but the other thing to look at is the 9-pin connector that ties the PerfectPass harness to the MasterCraft wiring. On the 2005 version there was a throttle feedback wire attached to PerfectPass that could cause the boat to go into "limb mode" if the teleflex handle pots become misaligned over time. You should only have 7 wires in this 9-pin plug. Location 8 should not be connected to anything on the MasterCraft side of the plug (this wire is YELLOW).

we found the problem. It was indeed a bad connection in the 14 pin connector. Green Cable => VGOV.

Thx a lot for your help however, and whenever you're in Luxembourg come by for a ride : www.youthwake.lu :-)
