I'm looking at speaker setups for wakeboard tower. Which setup would sound better?
4 6X9"
6 6.5"
4 6.5" 2 8"

For a tower I would go for the 4-6x9's or the 4-6.5's as you cannot really hear the bass 70 feet back anyway. The 6.5 and the 6x9 would be comparable sounding but the 6x9's will be quite a bit louder.

Ok good question. The 6X9's will be your loudest set up. I think the 4 6X9's will be way louder that the 6 6.5's The 6.5's will sound better than 6X9's, but when you start blasting the 6.5's loud they can't seem to take the power that 6X9's will handle. I have heard good things about the Pioneer 6X9's they are cheep and sound good. With cheep being there best attribute. My friend has 8" 6X9's on his tower with 1000 watts, It's the loudest thing I have heard in a boat. No problem hearing the music when riding behind the boat. P.S the boat is called "Ear Damage"

go 4 6x9's I have the pioneers and they scream with 800 watts. Go with speakers that have a high db sensitivity rating.
