Can you put a newer guage cluster like the 02 system on an older boat? What about retrofitting factory ballast and perfect pass pro?

Perfect Pass and ballast aren't a problem. You can do better than factory ballast though. I have a 99 SuperSport that has been updated with 2000 tower, PerfectPass, ballast, graphics, etc. Guage cluster is a different story as the whole dash pod is different and the newer clusters use electronic switches with a fuse panel under the dash while the 99 dash has the old push button switches that contain circuit breakers. The conversion is certainly doable, but it would involve quite a bit of rewiring, some fiberglass work and be very expensive unless you can get a donor boat somewhere. Plus you lose the factory stereo mount unless you redo the throttle area (easily as much work as the dash due to differences in the deck near the throttle) I agree that the newer dash is nice looking but one downside is it has proven more unreliable than the older style (pre-2002). The 95-99 SuperSport with the GT-40 is one of the better deals for used boats these days.
