Chris,

Boss raised their prices on November 1st and gave us a deadline to change our Internet prices by that date. Unfortunately not everyone changed their prices on the same day so we basically got screwed. Boss assured me that they strictly enforce a MAP (minimum advertised price). That is the lowest price that can be on a web site or any advertising. However, what price we actually sell at is only our business or it would amount to price fixing.

Since you are close to a buying decision we will honor the old pricing for you.

Just send me an e-mail at sales@wakeside.com with what you are interesting in and I will give you a special quote and coupon. You can also just give either myself or John a call at 1-866-925-3743.

Looking forward to serving you.

Not sure when we'll be getting it?? You post a WTF with eight exclamation marks like your world is ending, but you're not even ready to buy? Flaky.

Post summary:
1) Author whines
2) Store goes way above and beyond
3) Author backs out...cause of "bills and stuff"

Nice job Wakeside. Chris...read your own quote.

Matt, you couldn't of said it better!

Nice job wakeside!

I used to work in retail and this is a classic example of a stroker. You could cut the price in half and customer "Bob" still wouldn't buy. They are just stroking you, how's it feel? Anyone read Chris's profile... dude you are 15! House bills and stuff? Like what a mortgage? Why don't you go mow a few more lawns and honor your origional post about wanting to buy a tower. Or better yet go ask daddy for the cash!

Sorry I'm just in a mood today.

By A. Puente (bigdad) on Wednesday, November 06, 2002 - 1:58 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
The funny part is he is a 15 year old kid and is backing away from the deal because, "got house bills and stuff, just moved and are adding on to the house"..... a 15 year old with a house? Oh and nice grammar. A reputable business offers you a deal and you respond with "Iight"...stay awake in English class.

Chris,
If you do not buy within 30 days I don't think Wakeside should continue the deal for you.

By Chris Orzech (lfrider10) on Wednesday, November 06, 2002 - 7:46 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
that is there choice not mine... and i didnt mean to piss ne one off. You can read the first message...."I am planning"..i didnt say that i was gonna buy one tomorow, so if they want to give me the discount for a month, that is great, if not i will still probly buy from them next summer.

By Jackie Chiles (huss) on Thursday, November 07, 2002 - 8:02 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
You can also read your second message .."ya..considering i just lost 300 bux". So, wait a minute, how could you have already lost 300 "bux" if you don't even have any idea when you're gonna buy. Regardless of your true intentions you are the classic whining stroker who will always be a problem customer, if ever the time comes. Home ownership is, however, challenging, financially difficult, and rewarding all at the same time. Just name your price, and when you're ready I'm sure the world will honor it.

I can guarantee when I was 15, I never made such an immature spectacle of myself in a public forum. The reason I read this website's discussion board rather than the other site is because the people on this forum are more mature and the threads (for the most part) are informational. Also in this website you see a lot of the wakeboarding industry representatives responding to comments made. I think itís admirable and we should try to keep the discussion boards as respectable as we can so we donít drive them away. So yea it does bother me when a teenage punk starts acting in such an inappropriate manner. By the way, biotch is not the proper ebonic spelling for bitch.

Officer Puente, I'm not sure how you're able to determine that he's a "teenage punk" based on a few keystrokes. Maybe you're a detective?

The fact that you know the "proper ebonic spelling for bitch' concerns me.

Take it easy, the grumpy cop thing is 'out' this year..

First off I never indicated in my post that I was a Police Officer, so I'm not sure where I came off as a "grumpy cop". But thanks for reading my profile.

However that allows me to segue to this. I work on a tactical team that deals with street crimes in an urban inner city environment. To be an effective investigator, you must be able to communicate with the citizens in a vernacular they understand and feel comfortable with. So yes, I learned the street lingo and know about ebonics from the people who created the language. Not from watching MTV and listening to Eminem.

Are you still concerned Wastemore?

As for my labeling lfrider10 as a punk is not far off. For one thing he responds with posts such as "so lay-off god of wakeboarding" and "Go back to biotch land where u came from." Seems pretty disrespectful to me. Also if you look at the definition of a punk it is a slang term that means "A young person, especially a member of a rebellious counterculture group." As a "Behavior Specialist" Wastemore, you should be able to recognize that through lfrider10's responses and grammar he is obviously trying to stand out from the crowd in a rebellious manner that shows he doesn't care what others think about him. His age represents how young he is.... hence my label.

Chris,

Everyone is 15 at some point in time. We have many loyal, frequent buying customers that are 13-17. Some will grow up and buy $2,500 wakeboard towers at the right season of life. Others will influence the tower that their parents or friends choose. Wakeside tries to meet our customer's needs whether 15 or 45. When you are ready to buy a wakeboard, gear, or a $2,500 tower, give us a call and we will take care of you.

By the way, we also do package deals on towers, racks, speakers, and lights so there are other ways to get a discount even if it's next summer.

lfrider10,
Now you are acting like a disrespectful punk. Mothers chin? uncalled for.

Officer Puente,
Since your well versed in the english language(and ebonics), try familiarizing yourself with the word 'sarcasm'. I find it painfully ironic that you're able to discern that lfrider10 is a punk in a text evironment, but you're unable to detect a little sarcasm in my post.

We'll get together and have a doughnut sometime, it'll help 'glaze' things over.

What you meant may have some significance, Wastemore. But communication is a two-way steet, and the other part is at least as important.

For both Puente and me, your post came off as a self-righteous and critical. So, here's some feedback on the other half of the communication equation. For at least two people, you didn't pull it off. In fact, you were so far off, I doubt that you really intended sarcasm. Either that, or you need a lot of practice.

P.S. None of this is intended to be sarcastic.}

Chris,

That was one the most vulgar things I've read on this forum. The fact that you can come on here, say things like that to an adult and think it's OK astounds me. I wish you had the chance to say it to his face so he could respond the way you deserve.

The fact that one or two people got your back does nothing to change the fact that you're a punk. You're a kid. You came on here crying WTF and you got smacked down. You respond with whining and more vulgarity.

Just as you are free to make an ass of yourself, people have the right to call you on it.

I wish your parents monitored your activity on the internet more closely. Or was it them who made you clean up your profile?

Ok. That made me laugh. But the doughnut thing is out. Itís now Starbucks and bagels. We raised our standards.

My only point was the attitude being displayed by an obvious immature wakeworld user. There are several users on this discussion board who are teenagers, but their posts are written with respect and thought. Trust me, I never take any posts personally and enjoy them for pure entertainment value. Besides, the threads become much more interesting when people are arguing.

Wastemore Ė If youíre ever in the Delta, look for the Grey Mobius LSV and give me a shout. Iíll throw you a libation and a Krispy Kreme and weíll chill.

Lfrider10 ĖThe last time, I checked the Tac Team doesnít worry about skateboarders trying to grind on a bench at the grocery store. When you complain that the cops should be out there solving homicides and shootings, well thatís all I do.

The most impressive thing from this thread was the original response from wakeside.com. Very admirable. I must admit, I never considered wakeside.com as a retailer for my wakeboarding needs. But, now they will be the first place to go when Iím looking to buy something new.

Wait let me put that in a language lfrider10 can understand.

Yo wakeside, Iís likes ya mad skills fo tha screamin hookup. Woo Woo. Whens, Iís gots mo skrill and needs mo schizit, Iís givin ya a holla. Proper.

And with thatÖ Iím out.

Grumpy cop-

Take a chill, everyone here is too serious, if you dont like it dont read. this is getting better everyone message, everyone yellin at me for no reason, a guy is going to hook me up, and is keeping another customer and all u can do is bitch at me. It could be worse, i could stiff him completely.

Fogey, you're right.. I'm lying!
let's throw 'Rational thinking' into the equation and break down my post.

Officer Puente, I'm not sure how you're able to determine that he's a "teenage punk" based on a few keystrokes.
This would be the *only* statement in my post that was serious. I stand fast by it.

Maybe you're a detective?
Obviously sarcastic- Even a detective would be unable to determine the *true* nature of anyone in a text environment.

The fact that you know the "proper ebonic spelling for bitch" concerns me.
Sarcasm(sšrkzm)- Why would I be the least bit concerned? As a matter of fact, I find it funny that he *does* know the proper ebonic spelling for bitch. I certainly don't.

Take it easy, the grumpy cop thing is 'out' this year-
This is obviously another instance of 'fashion sarcasm', it has to be, the grumpy cop thing has never been 'in'.

Concur, communication is a two-way street! flip a u-turn, I'll share my side of the block with you sometime.

I'll practice well placed smilies/winkies to ease the burdon of frustration I must cause with my bizarre sense of humor. I seriously doubt it's going to help, though. I'm a liar and I can easily deceive you by putting them in places that will trick you into thinking I'm being sarcastic when I'm actually being serious.

Puente,
My only point was that he is 15. Even though the age of 15 was further back then I'd like to admit, I remember being an absolute idiot. Not much has changed.

I would enjoy that doughnut, coffee and a pull. I was actually going to purchase a Mob before I got my V210. One of the reasons I didn't was because the dealer wouldn't let me test drive it until I signed a contract. I've never been behind a MobV but hear the wake is great.

The grumpy cop sig is priceless. I think you should keep it, if for no other reason then simple irony.

Keep laughing!

All of you need to live alittle and come off of that mountain of maturity that your on. Chris just was stating a fact, to let all the other people of wakeworld know of the tower increase.
Whatever his (Chris) real age is doent really matter, the money is what matters.

Get off the computer and get outside, there is better things to do.

Okay, here we go again, Mr. "I drive my boat for 8 hours on $10's worth of gas."

I did not say you were a liar. I said I didn't think you intended sarcasm. What I do think is that you don't understand the concept.

Regardless of labels, the fact is that you took Puente to task for calling Orzech a punk. When he stuffed your silliness (quite effectively, by the way), you answered with a lame excuse about "sarcasm."

Then, just to add insult to injury, Orzech came back and proved Puente was exactly right and your defense of Orzech was misplaced.

And desite his utterly vulgar reference, you still feel a need to defend him. That's your right, of course, but all is not lost. I do agree with at least part of your last post.

By Wastemore (barry) on Saturday, November 09, 2002 - 3:25 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
Here we go again, Mr. "what you say is untrue but I'm not calling you a liar."

"In fact, you were so far off, I doubt that you really intended sarcasm."

What you meant may have some significance, Fogey. But communication is a two-way steet, and the other part is at least as important.

doubt Pronunciation Key (dout)
v. doubt∑ed, doubt∑ing, doubts
v. tr.
To be undecided or skeptical about: began to doubt some accepted doctrines.
To tend to disbelieve; distrust: doubts politicians when they make sweeping statements.
To regard as unlikely: I doubt that we'll arrive on time.

Fogey, "What I do think is that you don't understand the concept.[of doubt]"
When you doubt someone who has already made clear thier intention, then in fact you're calling them a liar. At a minimum, questioning thier truthfulness. You made it very clear that in your eyes, I was either lying or I wasn't good at being sarcastic. We both know the latter isn't true.

If you'll take a second to read, you'll notice that I stopped defending(if you'd like to call it that) Orzech quite some time ago.

Read,think.. then type, Fogey..

Take care,

B-

On further reflection, I don't want to leave this thread where it currently stands.

So, here's what else I have to say. I regret having made statements that offended you. I offer my sincere apology.

By Wastemore (barry) on Monday, November 11, 2002 - 5:11 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
All sarcasm aside-

Fogey,
I appreciate the apology, however; there is no need. I suppose if you knew me it would much easier to understand how lightly I take things. Ten-fold in a text environment.
As strange as it sounds, I appreciate the thought you put in to make the apology more then the apology itself, if that makes any sense.

To be clear, you did not offend me in any way. It's the net, need I say more?

I truly hope I didn't offend you or anyone else and that this 'discussion' was taken for exactly what it is, entertinment value.
If not, I offer my apology as well.

Take care,

B-
