Anyone using Alpine head units with multiple remotes? I'm looking at the 9857 model and don't see the option for them, however a stereo shop says you can. Anyone confirm this? Thanks.

sure you can use multiple remotes. but Alpine doesn't have a wired remote. Only wireless remotes.

I thought there was a universal wired remote out there, using the Sony hardware. Anyone try that with an Alpine head unit?

PAC makes a wired to IR adapter that works with the Acess Technologies remote. You can use as many of those as you want, you'll just have multiple IR "eyes" mounted by the headunit.

Alpine's wired remote will be available in May, but no one knows what the protocol will be or if it will support multiple remotes.
