i know the ones for the fenders work well but i am just curious as to what happens to them overtime...say like 1-2 weeks...

the boat will be on a lift and not used for towing

should work just fine. I used them for my old boat that was in the water and actually had three or four of them below the water line and they held fine. Hull needs to be clean obviously.
