well im gonna start my install on my ballast system and im looking for these. anyone know where to get them. ive seen them called mushroom heads too? im referring to the fitting that sits on the outside of the boat that you attach the bilge line to

Refer to them as "thru hull fittings" instead of "vent lines" and you will find them easier.

They are available in a variety of sizes and materials. I recommend plastic only if it is above the water line.

I do like the chrome option. My first choice though (and it's going to cost more) would be to go to a boat dealership and get some of the ones that are on the new boats. CC makes a really nice looking thru-hull fitting for their ballast systems. Since Alan has a Mastercraft, I would get one of the X-star thru hull fittings for his boat. I haven't seen Malibu, Tige, etc., but I'm sure they've got nice ones as well.
