To some people they are worth the additional cost. Others.......not so much

I think it is mainly the warranty thing. PCM std. warranty 3 years Merc std warranty 1 year.

i would tend to agree. However To some people engines are like boats or anything else X brand is the best all the rest are junk

For $700-800 bucks you can "Add" 2 years to the Mercury engine 1-year warranty. You can add up to 5 years.
