i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the 04 premier. has anyone ridden it yet. how is the new shape.

I rode it a few times. Here are my initial thoughts. I ride a 03 Premier w/o fins and the new one was a little grippier w/o fins. The built in fins are longer on the 04 so it bites a little more. Not sure that I liked that because I like a loose board and like to really roll over on the edges. The tip and tail was wider which I have to admit that that was a little hard to get used to. I think in time I can learn to like it, but right now I like the looser feel of the 03 a bit more.

I was riding the old premier for the last two seasons and was considering riding the era this year. I ended up on the new premier and haven't looked back. It has a little more grip than the old board when on edge, but is still pretty loose, especially if you ride front foot heavy. The center of the board is smoothed out (no channel) and the board feels really good popping and landing. I really like the extra width at the tip and tail. It comes off the wake pretty hard and gives me a lot of elevation. Just my thoughts, but I don't think I'll be going back to the old premier any time soon.

i have to tell you guys, i work for GB. and when i rode the new premier and i called the G dogg himself and told him how off the chain it was. the 04 premier is the sickest board ever! it cuts hard when you want it to, its easy on the landings but is still loose like the ERA it is probly the best board built to date. if you like the ERA(early premier) you will really like the 04. the only reason not to try it is if you are broke. cause if you try it you will want it suuper bad!!

Yes I have ridden it used to ride the 03 premier. Much better pop than the 03 thanks to a little more rocker. Definately demo it, i think the extra width also makes the 04 better for me because im 85kg and the 03 140 sat a little lower in the water.
