I recently had family move to Bakersfield and I am wondering what lakes do you Bakersfield Riders ride at? Looking into visiting them and bringing the boat with us. Thanks!

What's up Kimmy, I live in Bako. There are a few lakes that are close by. Several more within a couple hours drive too. BV isn't too bad, you just have to go at non-peak times to get the glass. Give me a shout, I'll ride with you.

hey kimmy,

definitely let us know when you're coming down. we'll come meet up with ya! bv isn't too far from us. and if you want to trapse another hour over the grapevine, pyramid and castaic are just on the other side of the hills. not that i particularly recommend either. bv is definitely your best bet unless your family moved to paradise lakes! :-)

Benua Vista a.k.a THe Delta is located in Bakersfield. But what sucks about it is that it is small as hell and the water is treated sweage water. There are also piru and prymid right near there sorta

Thanks for the info. My family said that Pyramid is close to them and he mentioned another lake but I forgot. He did not say anything about BV. They do live there in Central Bakersfield in some very newly built homes. We are thinking of visiting them next month sometime. I will email all of you that have posted to let you know when and what dates, etc. We look forward to visiting them as well as hooking up with all of you. Should be sometime soon.

Robert, our plans are not confirmed up yet, but we might either be going camping or sticking local and riding the Delta all 3 days.

Buena Vista is not something you can see from the I-5 or 99.
If your family is truly in Central Bakersfield ( darn near every house in that area has been newly developed in the past 3 yrs)
Have your family travel Rosedale Hwy or Stockdale Hwy (west) until they hit Enos road. then head South.
That will take through the farming lands and straight into Lake Webb/Buena Vista

benua vista is techincally called something else. But I know for a fact it is located somewhere near Bakersfield. If they live in the middle of Bakersfield Benua vista is closer than Prymid but however Prymid is alot nicer and bigger and deeper. Benua vista is treated sweage water and is only like 5-6 feet deep and really small. If you are planning to come out sometime in october or so bring a wetsuit becuase the water is starting to get a bit cold. but you still don't need it really

Pyramid is always windy, Piru is a tiny ass lake and any more than two boats and the water is done for the day. You'll need a thick wet suit or dry suit in the winter at BV, but its all glass.
