Rathy stuck two hs 10's in one set,so he definitely has the hands to stick a 12. I read that he recently landed a ts 10. Rusty has landed something like six ts 10s, but I don't know if he has started trying 12s. He couldnt be that far from one. What do you think?

Are you serious with this post? The 12 is yesterday's news. It's all about the 1440 now!

I think it's gonna be a little while before anyone else does it. Heel 12? very long time. I didn't see Rathy's toe 10, but judging by rusty's 10s, hes got a little work to get it to 12. But I just don't see a Heel 12 happening for a long time.

12's are not going to be happening for a while. how many riders have done a ten? like 5? Harf is an amazing rider that is one of the best in the industry if not the best.

Danny will probably land a different 12 before someone lands one, but the next person to land one I think it would be Rathy

lets not forget that jimmy has a 10 too...I'm not counting brad or jimmy out, because its possible, but personally think Rathy or Rusty will land the next 12.

I think I'm leaning a lil toward rathy only because Danny hit two variations of 10s before he hit the 12 and it looks like Rathy is right on his trail.

and I think Rusty has the best looking most consistent toeside 10s. But thats just me

Honestly, I think it will be a LONG time before we see another 12. Danny said it himself when he described it as an absolutly perfect scenario where everything just came together (Paraphrased). I just don't think the conditions can be re-created any time soon. Especially if the gap between Park's 10 and Danny's 10 is any indication.

If anyone, it'll be Smeele.

i just rode with rusty in Feb. And he isn't really pushing to land a 12 he took one attempt and barely touched the handle on the last rotation before hitting water. But he is trying to be the first to land a wake to wake 10. And a wake to wake 10 to me is more impressive than a double up 12. And i really think rusty will put the first wake to wake 10 down on tape. He had a few of them with the handle in his hand and just could stick the landing. So he's super close and i'm super stocked to see it happen. I just glad to see all these riders pushing the sport this hard and this far. Here is a pick from my trip

Why??

Kris, I think it will be Rathy. Bet? Lol.
Or 10 off the wake.Like to see that next.

I don't think a 1260 would be that much harder. Pretty sure danny went for a 12 because landing a 10 is more difficult.....no? He only landed a couple of 10s before he steered his focus toward the additional 180.

Landing a Toe 5 is easier than a toe 3. Same logic.

didnt danny say in an interview once that he went for nines over a 720 because they were easier for him then as well?

thats the reason i think brad smeele will be next. he said that when attempting 10's he found it hard to stop the rotation and stated that 12's could potentially become easier for him.

I thought Brian Hutton landed a wake to wake 10?

JMHO but it's (the spinning madness) getting kind of old. Seems like the next new trick is always just adding another 180 to an already existing trick. It would be nice to see something truly original.

Don't get me wrong, spinning is very difficult, and I do have respect for riders who do spin, but I kinda loose interest somewhere after the 540/720 area. 900+ is usually spinning so fast it looks like...figure skating? Ups for the riders who slow it down, bone it out, and grab that sh.t with style. Chris Williams' Mamma Jamma move is pure genius. More rewind moves, maybe break out the Shapiro orbital style. Maybe this is impossible, but how about a spin first mobe?

Thank you Tank, I couldn't agree more.

Mad props to those sticking these insane tricks, but the Mamma Jamma was absolutely nuts. Instead of watching the video and figuring he took off TS, spun a ton, and landed on heels/toes to figure out how far they went, I had to watch it 100 times to figure out what just happened.

Again, not taking anything away from 10's or 12's, but I just get confused once we get over a 7.

The thread is about who you think will land a 1260, not really a debate about whether or not you like these spins.

Landing bigger spins pushes everything and opens new doors. Now riders are adding more and more spins to their mobes too. And all of this helps them win more contests. I'm sure Rusty is thinking he could dominate with points on the tour if he can land w2w 10s. It's all part of pushing the sport.

O.K. sorry for the hyjack, just trying to express my opinions on the 10's & 12's. One last thought, though; It's all part of pushing the sport. Which pushes the sport more, adding another 180 or doing something original?

By Nick Tomsyck (sidekicknicholas) on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - 9:06 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
I think the next 12 will be Danny, again. Then Rusty just because he has done a lot of TS ones (he spins well, but all his spins look super out of control to me... I know they are not but it just looks that way), which will be far easier to land than a HS one...

Still waitin on good ol Bryan Hutton. Bet that kid could land a wake to wake 10 if he put his mind to it. 2 years ago I took a set with him and his first trick was a w2w heel 7 then came back switch and did another heel 7 like he was stealing candy from a baby. THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO, why has hutton not landed a 10?

By dave (knarbar) on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - 9:13 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
Oh ya he also did the back to back 900's. 3 in a row I believe and all wake to wake

By Frost (dhv142) on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - 9:36 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
but you have to account for all the weight that was in the boat when danny landed the 12. im sure if all the weight was correct as in that malibu when danny landed the 12 im sure rusty could most definitely land the w2w 1080

By water dork 88 (waterdork88) on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - 9:51 am:    Edit Post Delete Post
tank, i would consider adding another 180 an original move. its like saying the mamma jamma is just adding another 180 rewind. all moves that are innovative push the sport and are original.

Brian Hutton is rumored to attend the Spring Ride at Bass Lake on May 8-9. I'm sure you'll see him try a few off the DU's

By Eubanks (eubanks01) on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 - 12:17 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
Sure, you just can't land in between them.

I remember it now, definitely sick. I have always been a fan of rewinds. Necrason and Wright are still two of my favorites.

In regards to the 12, if Rathy hits it, I won't be surprised. He has nailed so many tricks in such a short career that I am no longer shocked by the speed at which he learns. He is, in my opinion, just that good and only getting better.

also thought phil soven would be a contender for the 10

it probably gonna be alot like parks with the first 10. he landed it back when not alot of riders were doing 9's, which is alot like how now when 10's are kinda new and one of the best(if not The best) rider lands something even more ridiculous.
