I can get a lyman 143 in exchange for my 08 CWB bindings that I don't use anymore, and i was wondering if a 143 lyman would be too big of a board for me, im used to riding nothing bigger than a 138 (i weigh about 135 and am 5'10). Its a great deal and I really want to know if a 143 would overwhelm me. Thanks Tom P.S. If anyone has a lyman 135 that they want to trade for a 143, then we could work something out too. |

143 is pretty huge for a 135-pounder... although it all boils down to riding style. What are you currently riding, and how do you like to ride? Bigger size means it'll be faster but you'll also have less control. I'd say don't go for it - I'm 175 and I think 143s feel like tanks. |

I rode the 08 143 yesterday. It felt small for a big board to me. |

Same here walt. The 143 lyman feels smaller than my 142 watson, although the watson is kinda wide... |

ride it youll get booted! its lite enough to where you wont really notice a huge difference (Message edited by czap on December 27, 2008) |

I thought it had a funky transition when going on edge. |

Yeah i don't think i'll go for it. I had a covin 133 and loved it (but never really rode anything else), then i tried my buddy's 08 watson 134 and loved the pop so much i just had to have a 3 stage. So I just ordered a ronix one DHV1 137 to go with my 08 ronix one bindings. Hopefully I will be able to get the cash for the bindings instead of the board. Unless someone wants to buy the board, i can work something out there.... |

I would do the trade and if it's too big just sell it, at least you can have the experience of trying out the board. |

Good choice in my book - Why ride a 143 when you can ride a 130?? I'm 175 and ride a 132. Call me old-school, but I'd take a shorter a board that sits low and lays into edges and bucks off the wake over a big, floaty board that's 10+ cm too big any day. |

5cm is not that big of a difference. I doubt you would notice much change between a 38 and a 42. |
