so, they have the photos up from the ronix design contest. if you notice on the board, there is a 4 bolt and 2 bolt pattern together, just like the 2008 slingshot boards. are the working on 4 bolt baseplates as well? I attached an image of what I'm talking about.

I doubt it, If you click on more info on the ronix site you can see the binding with a base plate on it and it has the normal mounting plate on it. Maybe thats just the first sketch and thats how the guy drew of the mounting pattern? All I know if that I really wish I could get my hands on those bindings. Sux that thats the only pair in the world.

not a big fan on Ronix boots, but the 4-hole stuff is interesting.

it's about time, the below is a thread my buddy started a long time ago, it was my introduction to WW after I broke a pair of Ultras back in the day. We've been asking for this for years!. Just thought this thread was pretty funny and took me back to my humble WW beginnings...

It is funny I've been doing 4-bolt patterns on my home made boards for years. It only makes sense. You can make a stronger and lighter setup that you will never have problems with. They probably don't do it because it is more expensive.

Neptune had the 4 hole pattern on the Player board. It worked out good. It was Chase Hefners board.

Lyle, how does it make construction lighter? It seems that you would have twice as many inserts, thus more weight.

Ronix had that same insert pattern on the prototypes and it looks like the base plates are removable and could possibly be adapted to a fur hole system. Who knows what they plan to do with that though.

Ronix came out with a four hole pattern on the first prototype board and boots that Adam was riding in the first ad. You guys remember, it was the the shot under the bridge on Lake O.

The four hole setup had a similar plate and release system to the Sling Shot boots about a year before. Who knows who had it first? It was a cool idea but they weren't able to get the technology perfected before the release. Because of the uncertainly the boards were made with both insert patterns. With the building hype Ronix had to get images out quick and the only images they had were the prototype boards.
