so, they have the photos up from the ronix design contest. if you notice on the board, there is a 4 bolt and 2 bolt pattern together, just like the 2008 slingshot boards. are the working on 4 bolt baseplates as well? I attached an image of what I'm talking about.

hmmmm, could this be a flex possibility ? |
I doubt it, If you click on more info on the ronix site you can see the binding with a base plate on it and it has the normal mounting plate on it. Maybe thats just the first sketch and thats how the guy drew of the mounting pattern? All I know if that I really wish I could get my hands on those bindings. Sux that thats the only pair in the world. |
no kidding....they look pretty silly but at the same time i really dig em. |
not a big fan on Ronix boots, but the 4-hole stuff is interesting. just a matter of time until everyone is doing it |
it's about time, the below is a thread my buddy started a long time ago, it was my introduction to WW after I broke a pair of Ultras back in the day. We've been asking for this for years!. Just thought this thread was pretty funny and took me back to my humble WW beginnings... http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/185002.html |

It is funny I've been doing 4-bolt patterns on my home made boards for years. It only makes sense. You can make a stronger and lighter setup that you will never have problems with. They probably don't do it because it is more expensive. Skiing made me board, Lyle Chrome Dome

hi-jack |
nice lyle! It's cool to see another board from you...I like that you are into building your own stuff like that. |
Neptune had the 4 hole pattern on the Player board. It worked out good. It was Chase Hefners board. |
Nice, that's great! Somewhat ironic first wakeworld post from Sperbet, 1441 posts (80%+ at work) ago...before he unleashed the beast...proving once wakeworld hits your lips, it's so good: }Brendan, What would your boss think about you fu@#%in around on a wakeboard discussion board all day! GET BACK TO WORK!!! |
I like the 4 hole thing too |
those bindings are so sick! they should manufacture them through ronix, i bet many people would want em. |
Yeah Squid, rode a Neptune Abyss that had a 4 bolt pattern. |
Lyle, how does it make construction lighter? It seems that you would have twice as many inserts, thus more weight. Ronix had that same insert pattern on the prototypes and it looks like the base plates are removable and could possibly be adapted to a fur hole system. Who knows what they plan to do with that though. |
i noticed when they first came out.. a couple sites had bolt patterns like that and other sites didnt. i was confused. could be a glitch,, |
I gotta say even though i hate the ronix one bindings cause they break so easy! Those bindings pictured are sick! |
I wouldn't hold your breath on Ronix making a 4 hole bolt pattern. |
We will be dropping in on the 4 hole pattern...Mmmmmmwwwwahahahaha. |
Ronix came out with a four hole pattern on the first prototype board and boots that Adam was riding in the first ad. You guys remember, it was the the shot under the bridge on Lake O. The four hole setup had a similar plate and release system to the Sling Shot boots about a year before. Who knows who had it first? It was a cool idea but they weren't able to get the technology perfected before the release. Because of the uncertainly the boards were made with both insert patterns. With the building hype Ronix had to get images out quick and the only images they had were the prototype boards. |

Those bindings look like someone chucked on them. |
