We are thinking of buying some property on this lake and wondering if anyone knows anything about this lake and the area in general? Thanks. |

My grandparents retired to a house on that lake. I haven't been in a long while, but IIRC, it's full of stumps, very dirty, and mostly considered a fishing lake. I remember it being really chopped up everytime I've been out on it. Admittedly, I haven't been there in a minute and I'm sure someone else here is more familiar with it. |

Stanfield summed it up as far as I know. I live on Lake Houston about 80 miles or so south of Livingston. But it's connected to one of the best rivers to ride on in the area IMO (Trinity River) a 45-60 foot deep river...glass all day long. Our local club has guys who live up there. go to www.gcwa.com...you'll get all the info you need. |

Livingston is a good lake to play on, but for serious riding you need to be on the river (Trinity) and it's not practical to navigate from the main lake to the river. Livingston is like the 2nd largest lake in the state. and we're talking about Texas, so that makes the lake actually bigger than some other states entirely ha ha. there's good water near the dam early in the morning and late in the evening but otherwise it can be too rough for enjoyable boarding. ...oh, and hi Adam.
