amazing from the technical perspective? sure. but it's also extremely stupid, inconsiderate and completely uncalled for. look at the other boat as it was hit by their wake, it was totally swamped! that really pisses me off and i'm extremely easy going. just cause something can be done doesn't mean that it should.

i think the other boat planned on being there bro.

i dunno man.. the fact they're not cheering the rider kinda indicates to the contrary to me..

maybe u are right...but there is no way that a good boat driver would ever get that close to another riders wake unless it was planned. that river was much wider and they didnt need to be that close.

well, they did have a lot of space on that waterway so if the other boat did plan on being there, they're out of their freakin minds cause judging by all the clothes they were wearing it wasn't exactly hot out..Upload

Cobe did one over and X-star when we were out behind a barge. This was a long time(97 or8) ago up at okoboji. Snapped board in half.

i think he meant Owned, not Pwned.

And from what i remember, a guy that was a witness to this event and is friends with the guy said that both boats had it all planned out and everybody was ok with it.

as for stupid.....yes. but how many times have others done things that could kill them and when they pull it off, everyone is amazed?

That jump was totally planed out with everyone from the boat driver, rider, and everyone in the boat he cleared all on the same page. The rider even took some close test runs to make sure he had height and timing down before putting himself or anyone else at risk.

i think it's funny how the original poster asked for the link to the video, yet each person has to add their own opinion on this stunt!

no one cares if you think it was dumb, that wasn't what the guy asked for..this subject has been discussed probably in 10 posts already. give it a rest..

I teach 7th and 8th grade. Pwned-pronounced powned. Stands for "p*+sy owned". I cant make any sense of it. It dosent even make sense to me. But that is what he meant for all those wondering.

It is just a term. As for the spelling, I meant to spell it that way. The meaning is as the same as owned. I dont know where the hole "p*+sy" came from.

By the way, I am by no means a computer nerd, neither do I want to be. It is used a lot at school. Just kindof sticks with you after a while. Its fun to say though.

Jon, I have never seen that before. Quote from wikipedia.org, "We pwned them hardcore in that basketball game." OK I never thought of using it that way but I guess if you are that far into a game and in 2nd grade that might pass.

Simply stated, The chase boat got owned. LOL

the word isn't pronounced. hackers don't talk to people in real life. trying to pronounce "pwned" is a good way to get your lunch money stolen. in conversation, just stick to "owned". the only reason people use words like "pwn" is to poke fun at the ridiculous way "hax0rz" used to type. you see, it's supposed to be funny.

By Garret S. (garret_s) on Saturday, June 10, 2006 - 2:10 pm:    Edit Post Delete Post
actually, to understand the origin of "pwned", you need to first understand the proximity of the leter "p" and "o" on the keyboard. It was invented from slip-ups during gaming chat. True story.

FYI. Ok, I am going back to my hole now...
