Hey folks. I just bought a house on Lake Killarney, Winter Park, Florida. I have arranged for a boat lift to be installed next week, and am wonder if anyone can pretty please get me access to a boat lift. I have a seawall, so putting in my boat from my property is not an option. Our subdivision has a ramp, but the neighboring house is under construction and the construction company has stacked debris on the ramp, making it unusable. I notice that some of the other houses/condos/etc. have ramps, but I am new to the neighborhood and have not yet met the right people. If anyone can help me out, please email me. I would be most appreciative and return the favor any way that I can.

Thanks. Steve sl8w@yahoo.com

sorry for the typo, I'm looking for access to a boat ramp, not a lift. I'm getting a lift installed. Once the boat and lift are in, I'll be set.

so why dont you ask a neighbor or go over to the construction guys and tell them to move their Chit! otherwise you are gonna call the city and see if they have all their permits and possibly call OSHA.

what about your homeowners association, ask them to have them move their crap. that is the reason you live on the lake correct, to ACCESS it?stop being non-confrontational and get it done!

The last think I need to do is piss off my new neighbors. The debris on the ramp is only temporary, but if I make them move it, then construction to the house would be delayed, which would = upset neighbors. Instead, I'm hoping for some love from someone in a position to help me. Then, someday, I could possibly return the favor. That way, everyone wins.

You don't have to make it confrontational. Explain your problem to the contractor or the owner and let them help you solve it. You don't have to threaten. I'm sure they realize that you have options if they don't help you-so they will probably take ownership of helping you fix the problem. Just my .02

Hey Steve, congrats on your home purchase. Until they clear your ramp maybe you can give OWC a try. Have you been there yet?

What about going around and knocking on a few doors?
