I'm being offered this board and binding set for $150. I don't really know much about older used boards. Is an '02 still a decent board to ride or is it ragged out?

Thats a fairly small board. But if you are a small person its a decent board.

That's the exact same board and bindings my buddys wife has. It's a great set up, reliable pop, forgiving landings. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think they've ever really changed the shape of the essence. My wife uses an 01 essence(same shape). She loves it.

should work fine for her..
however, if you need your wife to be a reliable 3rd, you might wanna get her some really nice and shiny new gear. if she likes how she looks in it, she'll be that much more interested in coming out to ride.

Thanks guys. Board went for $215 after shipping. I think someone paid too much. Got my demo '04 LF/Hyp set-up for $165.

I just got an 06 HL Divine and 06 HL Symbol bindings for $245. Great deal in my book and the set up is SICK! 
Alain - hahaha not entirely untrue! Everytime I see my set up sitting there I contemplate putting on the drysuit..
