Does anyone else wakeboard behind a sea ray or other bigger cuddy or recreational boats? I have an 89 260 cuddy.

We have a Ski Ray as well. It's a 92 inboard, and it actually throws out a really nice wake when its all sacked up!

175 Sea Ray. wake isn't horrible with alot of weight, but if there's only 3 of you, might as well wakeskate.

04 Sea Ray Sundeck with tower, haven't really been able to dial in the wake since all last summer I was on the couch or at physical therapy for my knee. Hoping to get some ballast bags to play with the weight. Here's a little pic:

I/O's can be great wakeboarding boats, just not as exact with the speed control. Ballast certainly helps but some of the I/O's can make a really great shaped wake. A Sea Ray with a tower is also a much less expensive way to go, and you generally have more social room with a I/O, which is always fun and a great way to get more weight in the boat.

Hey xtremebordgurl, is that a factory tower? I want to put a tower on mine but i can not find one that i like. I like that one a lot though. I have an 89 26 cuddy. The wake is also nothing but white wash, that was at 18mph. Would trimming the drive or running down the trim tabs clean it up at all?

I always trim it as far up as I can and it sinks the back more and cleans it up quite a bit. We ordered the boat with the tower on it from Sea Ray, that pic is off the Sea Ray website but mine is identical, the only difference is we had sea ray put board racks on the tower as well. The boat goes in about mid may, I'll take some pics of it to show.

I have a 2004 Sea Ray 200 Select with a 260 hp Bravo III Mercruiser. I installed a Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro and I run about 800-1000 pounds of ballast in the bow and about 350 pounds towards the rear (driver only). The wake is perfect for a beginner to intermediate rider, a little wide though, but this is typical for an i/o. Take a look at this clip: www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=13485 - With the setup I have right now, my wake is at least twice as high and clean as the wake in this clip.

SeaRay's towers are made by Xtreme Towers, the same company that supplies factory towers for Mastercraft, Supra and Moomba, Centurion, Crownline, Chaparral, Bayliner, Four Winns and Monterey.

I just sold my 2005 Sea Ray 220 Select with 300hp Bravo III Mercruiser. Purchased an 04 Mastercraft X-30. The Sea Ray was a great boat just not geared up for hardcore water sports. The swim deck was a pain getting in and out of the water. The wake was fair at best. You can wakeboard behind anything but an inboard makes a difference. In the end, the chance to be out on the water and boarding is all that really matters. Enjoy the boat you have!

My wake is really shady though. I have only gotten to ride 5 times last year but at 18mph my wake was all white wash and seemed so wide you could never go w2w. How should i clean it up? Will trim tabs help if i burry the bow with them or if i trim the drive and get the bow up?

Chris experiment with the tabs. When boarding, I put the outdrive all the way down. The biggest challenge is to maintain a constant speed. The 23' select I had wanted to plane at about 16-18mph depending on weight distribution, chop, etc. I shot some video from last summer I'll try and find the time to post this evening that will show the kind of wake we worked with.
