| The Alpha is a lace-up and the ultra is a slip-on. The comfort dependant on you. I just got the Ultras and I love them (They fit tight, but still give some play in the ankles so you're not completely locked down.), but I have heard nothing but good things about the alpha boot. Try them on, and if you can demo them and find out what feels better for you.

| tried both and bought the ultras... I was already riding 00 ultras and thought they had more hold... with the alphas, I wasn't able to get them tight enough over the heel unless I would use 2 sets of laces... but if you want a binding that wont take forever to break in and easy to get into, the alpha's your #1 choice... if you're ready to sacrifice some time to break them in and a little ease of entry to get killer hold, go with the ultras and you wont be deceived...
