DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: Sealed or Ported box?
[QUOTE=stevev210;1892726]David, I ended up getting the JL AUDIO CP112-W0V3 4 ohm bass wedge. It will suit my needs for now. I'm pushing it with a wetsounds HT6 so that's 300 watts in a perfect world. What should I set my hrtz at for this particula...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: Gain sensitivity questions
You cannot correctly tune a system without finding the true clipping threshold of every single component in the audio chain from beginning to end. Many source units do not clip at all at full volume. Only a rare few would clip as early as 75%. You...

585 watts is a lot of power per each Rev10. As an example, for a 10-inch subwoofer to truly handle 600 watts RMS it usually has a larger voice coil than the Rev10 midbass driver. However, for me, it represents zero risk because I have zero toleran...

1) 1kHz on fullrange or highpass zones and 50 Hz on the lowpass. 0 dB might be the choice if you listen to mostly recent recordings with maximum compression engineered to sound louder or music with max compression, very dense material and little w...

If you want accuracy, start with domain correction. A DSP processor such as an Audison Bit Ten is HUGE if you have someone who knows the tuning process. The Audison Prima multi-channel amplifiers have DSP built in and make DSP very affordable. I h...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: Wet Sound Rev8's
Okay. Back on point. To the OP: You should have all the speaker you need for surfing if your expectations are reasonable. But you need better quality power. A bridged Syn4 is a bit of excess but would still be my choice. And I like the configurati...

I looked into that amplifier. Looks really cheap. Looks like it could be a stereo Class AB amplifier that is internally bridged to arrive at the monoblock designation. 162.5 watts max per each of two speakers. That's half of what many people run o...

Although that is less power than these speakers deserve, having too little power really doesn't increase your ability to blow speakers. Power, in one form or another, is truly what thermally damages speakers....melts enamel coatings, burns voice c...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: MB Boats switching to Exile Audio...
[QUOTE=stevev210;1890054]I heard the exile system in a new 2015 22 tomcat yesterday at Action WS over here in AZ and it didn't sound tuned at all! The tower speakers were making my ears bleed like the old pro 80s and 60s. The sub was rattling the ...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: MB Boats switching to Exile Audio...
An interesting side note is that the Exile Xi12 and the Wetsounds XS12 have almost identical Thiele/Small parameters so if you are a Wetsounds fan the two 12-inch woofers should be interchangeable in the factory MB enclosure.
