Also, get a real ground distribution block rather than stacking all those lugs on a single post. I recommend limiting three lugs per post maximum even with a large battery 5/16" post or a 5/16" or 3/8" battery switch post.

Temporarily get the fuse out of the buss and re-test.

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: In-Boat speaker amp cutting out when bass hits
The visual reference could be deceiving but I see several concerns. Is that really 4-gauge cable feeding all amplifiers individually? Is that the 'funny' cooper-clad aluminum alloy wire or all copper? A lite buss bar is no replacement for a pr...

Your 800.4 should be in the highpass mode. Temporarily remove the turn-on lead from the sub amp (rendering it inoperative) and check to see if the 800.4 behavior changes when driven hard with the same material. Do the same when completely faded a...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: Sub + Amp wiring question
[QUOTE=sidekicknicholas;1910214]^ Awesome info!!!! Thank you for that reply! Looks like its just going to be a matter of me starting from scratch and building a system of components that were meant to be together rather than try to salvage the ...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: Sub + Amp wiring question
[QUOTE=Truekaotik;1910167]Honestly, there is no harm only running one coil wired on a DVC. The only negative affect will be power handling loss from 1/2 to 2/3 less. Which equates to less output :(.. A resistor on the other coil will change the Q ...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: Sub + Amp wiring question
[QUOTE=hatepain;1910152]Just wire one of the VC's, I've done this before with no issues. The handling power of the sub is dropped but you should be fine with just 400 watts, worst case scenario you'll have a little head room and hey if you blow th...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: school me on 6.5" subs
The two 10-inch option should be out because you do not want to split sub locations unless they are perfectly symmetrical in all aspects....same loading, same depth, same orientation, etc. Terrible to have one starboard sub direct-radiating and on...

DavidAnalog made a post in this thread: school me on 6.5" subs
Small 6.5" and 8" usually need to have slightly larger motors to be relevant in sensitivity. But large motors and larger motor force generally means a higher Q and a higher resonance. The narrow baskets of 6.5" and 8" also means smaller spiders (e...
